2. Hosting and access data

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich. When you access a page, technical connection data is processed to deliver the website and protect the server. This may include your IP address, the date and time of access, the requested URL, the referring page and browser information. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. The hosting provider processes data on our behalf. Access data is retained only for the period needed for operation and security, subject to the host’s configured log retention and any legal obligations.

3. Contact by email

When you email us, we process your address and the information in your message to handle your enquiry. Depending on its subject, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (contractual or pre-contractual communication) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (other correspondence). We delete correspondence once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention duties apply.

4. WordPress and Google Site Kit

The site runs on WordPress. Cookies used for logging in and editing content concern authorised administrators. Public comments and user registration are not offered. Google Site Kit is installed for administrative access to Google Search Console and PageSpeed Insights. Search Console reports on the site’s visibility in Google Search; PageSpeed Insights helps assess page performance. Google Analytics is not currently connected through Site Kit. If further tracking or embedded third-party services are introduced, we will update this notice and, where required, request consent before they are used.

5. Newsletter

You can subscribe to The Ecological Economist’s monthly email newsletter. We use Brevo to manage subscriptions and send emails. We process your email address, subscription status and records of your signup and confirmation. Technical delivery and connection data, such as timestamps and IP addresses, may also be processed by Brevo to operate the service and prevent abuse.

We use double opt-in: after submitting the form, you receive an email containing a confirmation link. You are added to the newsletter list only after clicking that link. Processing for newsletter delivery is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter or by contacting newsletter@theecologicaleconomist.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.

Brevo’s email service records delivery events and can measure email opens and link clicks using tracking pixels and redirected links. These statistics help us understand how the newsletter is used. The signup form explains this measurement as part of the consent requested. For information about Brevo’s processing, service providers and international transfers, see Brevo’s privacy policy.

Your subscription data is used while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we stop newsletter delivery. Limited records may be retained to document consent and withdrawal, resolve legal claims and prevent further unwanted mail. You may request deletion using the contact details above.

6. Your rights

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), data portability (Article 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21). If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time for the future. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77). To exercise your rights, contact us using the details above.
